Power Plant Industries (PPI) is focused on the development sale, manufacture and service of catalysts for the control of NOx-emissions from coal, oil or gas fired power plants as well as waste-to-energy plants and other industrial processes.
This business segment is part of Johnson Matthey's Emission Control Technologies (ECT) business.

Emission Control Technologies (ECT) comprises Johnson Matthey`s global auto catalyst, heavy duty diesel and stationary emissions control businesses. ECT's technologies are focussing on catalysts and systems controlling NOx, CO, hydrocarbons and soot particulats.

Johnson Matthey's Emission Control Technologies' (ECT's) Business Unit comprises the control of NOx, CO and other emissions of stationary applications. These stationary applications are on the one hand coal and oil fired power plants, which are the heart of the Power Plant Industries’ (PPI) business, gas turbines, engines and diesel generators, as well as industrial processes such as waste-to-energy, glas and cement. Furthermore, SEC comprises catalysts and systems for marine and locomotive applications. The honeycomb and plate catalysts as well as oxidation catalysts and diesel particulate filters produced by Johnson Matthey are especially suitable for these applications.
